SYNLAB Ghana Wins ECOWAS Quality Award - June, 2017

SYNLAB Ghana formerly Medlab one of five (5) quality awards for medium sized companies in the Ecowas region (West African Economic Region) First ever Awards.

SYNLAB Ghana Limited formerly Medlab was the only Ghanaian company to receive an award at the maiden edition of the Ecowas Quality Awards which was held in Abidjan, Cote d‘Ivoire on June 30, 2017. The award has been instituted to encourage businesses across the Ecowas community to adhere to the highest quality standards in order to promote their competitiveness in international trade.

Dr. Rosemary Keatley, the Managing Director, received the quality award on behalf of the company. Dr. Keatley, who is a strong advocate of quality standards and ethics in laboratory and related health services, expressed the hope that the stand taken by Ecowas would go a long way to promote the adoption of official quality policies in African countries where there is none as yet.

SYNLAB Ghana was nominated for the award after a comprehensive audit by the Ghana Standards Board and by an external auditor from Ecowas. The auditors’ reports were considered by an independent jury drawn from among the 16 member countries of Ecowas. In the category of medium-sized companies, Medlab was selected as one of five companies that were honoured for quality leadership in the Ecowas region.

The Ecowas Quality Awards has been instituted as part of the West Africa Quality Programme (WAQP).
